Your Very Own pig

If you like the idea of owning your own pig, knowing exactly where it came from, how it has lived its life and how it is butchered then why not join our rare breed pig club?

We will take care of everything required to get your pork ready for your freezer but you are welcome to be involved in the process.

The cost of your pig is;

  • £6 / KG for a whole or split pig unbutchered
  • £6.50 / KG fully butchered (including bacon & sausages)

This £ / KG cost is based on the deadweight of the pig which is the weight of the pig following slaughter. The deadweight of the pig is around 75% of the live weight. The average deadweight of our pigs at slaughter is ~60 - 65KG. This can vary between pigs.

This includes all costs in raising your pig. If a whole pig is too much for you, why not group together with some friends.

Our pig club is a great Christmas, wedding, anniversary or birthday present. ...or just treat yourself!

The details

  • If you have a preferred choice of breed, we will do our best to source your piglet
  • Your pig will be ready for slaughter at 5 - 7 months of age, depending on the breed
  • You can choose how your pig is butchered, including the size of joints and flavour of sausages, etc.
  • £100 deposit is payable up front and will be taken off of your final balance
  • If butchered, the amount of meat you will have from your pig will be around 65% of the live weight. This includes trotters, bones, head and offal, etc.
  • If you choose to have your pig butchered, your pork will be packed, labelled and ready to freeze, cure or cook straight away
