The Food Assembly & JL Butchers
We have some exciting news to share – we’re going to be supplying our very first farmers market – The Food Assembly!
The Food Assembly is an award winning ‘click & collect’ online Farmers Market exclusively for local food where customers can buy a range of produce through a single website directly from local farmers, growers and food producers. Customers place their orders and then once a week meet up with the the farmers and producers at the market to pick up their orders face to face.
We think this is a fantastic concept for a farmers market and in particular works well for us as a small farm looking to reduce waste as much as possible. This farmers market is zero waste – compared to the usual farmers market where a farmer would typically bring along fresh meat to sell and potentially have waste at the end of the day, this concept reduces that waste completely. It’s also great as we get to meet our customers face to face.
As we are a small farm, we have teamed up with our friends at JL Butchers to supply the Food Assembly. We’re working with James at JL Butchers because he takes the same approach to meat as we do and he genuinely has an interest in the provenance of the animals he uses. Working with JL Butchers allows us to offer a range of our products including pork, beef, lamb and chicken and also our free range eggs. We are also going to have our goat kid meat available in the summer – watch this space!
The Woking Food Assembly will be in the Lightbox on Thursdays from 5pm – 7pm.
